Privacy Policy
Last updated: 23 September 2026
This policy explains what data the LiftSmart iOS app ("LiftSmart", "we", "us") collects, why we collect it, and the choices you have. The short version: we collect what is needed to run your training, we do not sell your data, we do not show ads, and you can delete everything at any time from inside the app.
1. Data we collect
Account data
- Registered accounts (Sign in with Apple or Google): your email address and display name as provided by the sign-in provider, account creation and last-login timestamps, and how the account authenticates.
- Guest accounts: you can use LiftSmart without registering. A guest account is an anonymous identifier with no email or name attached. If you later register, your training data moves to the registered account.
Profile data you provide
- Bodyweight and your preferred weight unit (kg/lb) — used to log bodyweight exercises and prescribe loads.
- Gender (optional) — used only to tailor which programs the app shows you.
- Training preferences from onboarding and the program questionnaire: goal, experience level, schedule, equipment and muscle focus.
Training data
- Workouts, plans and programs you create or start, the sets, reps, weights and durations you log, the feedback you give after exercises, session history, and personal records derived from it.
- Custom exercises you create (name, muscle groups, equipment, optional video link).
Purchase data
- Subscription status (whether your account has an active LiftSmart Pro entitlement). Payment itself is processed entirely by Apple — we never see your payment details.
Feedback
- If you send feedback from the app, we receive the message you write and, for registered accounts, the email associated with your account so we can reply.
Usage and diagnostic data
- Anonymous app usage events — screens viewed, features used (for example that a workout was completed and how long it took), app version and device model. See Analytics.
- Crash reports and performance data (for example that the app crashed, on which screen, with which app version and device model). These are linked to your account identifier so we can fix problems that affect you; they contain no training content.
- A device-integrity check (Apple App Attest) that confirms requests come from a genuine copy of the app. It sends no personal data.
We do not collect your location, contacts, photos, health-app data, or the advertising identifier (IDFA), and the app contains no advertising.
2. How we use it
- To provide the service: store and sync your training data, build and adjust your program, show your history and records.
- To personalize: match the catalog to your preferences, schedule and (if provided) gender.
- To operate subscriptions: check whether your account is entitled to LiftSmart Pro.
- To improve the app: understand which features are used through aggregated usage analytics, and find and fix crashes.
- To respond when you contact us.
Where the GDPR applies, we rely on the performance of our contract with you (providing the app), your consent (optional data such as gender), and our legitimate interest in improving and securing the service.
3. Who we share it with
We share data only with trusted service providers that make the app work on our behalf — providers of sign-in, secure cloud data storage, subscription management, crash reporting and usage analytics. Apple processes all payments, and if you sign in with Apple or Google, those providers handle the authentication. All data is transmitted and stored in encrypted form.
We do not sell or rent personal data, and we do not share it with advertisers or data brokers.
4. Analytics
We collect anonymous usage analytics to understand how the app is used — for example which screens are opened, that workouts are started and completed, and whether onboarding is finished. Analytics data is tied to a random app-instance identifier, not to your name or email. We do not use the advertising identifier (IDFA), do not use analytics for advertising, and do not track you across other companies' apps or websites.
5. Retention and deletion
- Your data is kept for as long as your account exists.
- Deleting your account removes your profile and all training data from our servers, revokes the Sign in with Apple token where applicable, and deletes the authentication record. You can do this in the app under Profile → Delete account — see the step-by-step instructions.
- Abandoned guest accounts are cleaned up, including their data.
- Crash reports are kept for up to 90 days. Feedback emails are kept only as long as needed to handle your request.
6. Your rights
Depending on where you live, the law may give you rights over your personal data — such as asking what we hold about you or having it deleted. You can view and delete everything yourself directly in the app; for anything else, contact us and we will help.
7. Children
LiftSmart is not directed at children under 16, and we do not knowingly collect personal data from them. If you believe a child has provided us personal data, contact us and we will delete it.
8. Changes to this policy
If we change this policy in a meaningful way we will update the date above and, for significant changes, point it out in the app. Continued use of the app after a change means you accept the updated policy.
